2007 Merlot 750

2007 Merlot 750

The 2007 Seavey Merlot exudes the complexity, minerality and power through a blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.  This is a full bodied example of Merlot.  As with every wine we craft, your patience will be rewarded, whether you allow it to evolve in your wine glass or over years in your cellar.

Seavey Vineyard's fourteenth estate-produced Merlot, the 2007 was made from 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown at several different elevations of the vineyard. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness with concentrated fruit flavors. Winemaking style followed classic Bordeaux methods, beginning with whole berry fermentation, cold soak and native yeast to start fermentation. The wine was aged in French oak barrels (50% new oak) for 18 months before bottling in May 2009. This wine offers a nose of blueberries, blackberries, and coffee, with a luscious mouth feel complimented by bruiting tannins, full weight in the mouth, wide flavor profile and inky color that slowly unveils itself as you swirl it in your glass.
