Vineyard Foreman
Mario Guitierrez has been with Seavey Vineyard since its earliest days. He and his family have lived in the gate house since 1985. He supervises not only the vineyard, where he knows each vine and its special needs individually, but the cattle, the irrigation and water systems, the machinery and the general maintenance of the 200 acre property.
In the summer, his miraculous green thumb produces a succulent and bountiful vegetable garden. An avid and accomplished fisherman, he can be found sitting with a rod and tackle in hand whenever he has a free moment.
His wife, Lourdes, has taught in the Calistoga schools for many years. Mario Jr., is a graduate of UC Davis, and works at Genentech, and is in the USAF Reserve. His younger son, Frank, has just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq, courtesy of the US Army.
