All Seavey wines are estate-produced from our 40 acre southeast facing hillside vineyard overlooking Lake Hennessey, and do not leave the property until they are in the bottle.

The estate handcrafts Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and small lots of Chardonnay, as well as Petit Verdot for blending with the Cabernet. The Chardonnay grows in the cooler area of the vineyard down by Conn Creek, and is whole cluster pressed, and barrel fermented in French oak with primarily native yeasts. The red wines are fermented in small stainless steel tanks, and age for 18-19 months in French oak barrels, 35 – 50% new before bottling on site. No grapes are bought.

1990 was the first vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, and the first Merlot harvest came in 1994. In 1999, a second Cabernet, the Caravina was inaugurated. Seavey had begun planting the vineyards in 1981, and the initial harvests were sold to Raymond Vineyards.
