100% ESTATE GROWN, PRODUCED AND BOTTLED - NAPA VALLEY AVA

Seavey Vineyard's fourteenth estate-produced Merlot, the 2007 was made from 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown at several different elevations of the vineyard.  The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness of sugar and tannins and with concentrated fruit flavors. Winemaking style followed classic Bordeaux methods. Following fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak barrels (50% new oak) for 18 months before bottling in May 2009.

Jeremy Weintraub and Philippe Melka recently conducted a 1994-2007 vertical tasting of all our merlot vintages.  We were very pleased about how they were showing. The 2007 was a standout.  This wine offers a nose of blueberries, blackberries, and coffee, with a soft luscious mouth feel.  If you enjoy Seavey Merlot, you’ll be pleased to know that this wine was a favorite among the tasters mentioned above.
