Seavey Vineyard’s seventh estate-produced Merlot, the 2000, was made from 100% Merlot grapes grown primarily on a gradually sloping east-facing block near the top of the vineyard.  The grapes were harvested in the third week of September at optimal ripeness of sugar and tannins and with concentrated fruit flavors.

Winemaking style followed classic Bordeaux methods. Following fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak barrels (45% new oak) for 18 months before bottling on April 27, 2002.
