2007 Seavey Cabernet
Available Fall 2010
Not for Sale
"The virtually perfect 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (85% Cabernet Sauvignon and a whopping 15% Petit Verdot) has an inky bluish/purple color, a gorgeous nose of incense, soy, truffles, scorched earth, and gobs of blackberry and cassis fruit. The tannins are gorgeously velvety and the wine very full-bodied, with terrific texture, a multi-layered mouthfeel, and a blockbuster finish with no hard edges. Rating: 96+ Points." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
2006 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$95.00
“The 2006 Seavey has soil-inflected aromas of warm stones, underbrush and dried berries, with a very ripe, almost liqueur-like aspect…then, big, chewy and deep, with a compelling sweetness to its smoke, tobacco and espresso flavors. Just juicy enough to maintain verve…there’s something sexy and exotic about this wine.” - Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar, June 2009 #144
2005 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$105.00
"The wine discloses an inky black/purple color, a gorgeous nose of roasted meats, blackberry and cassis, with a hint of licorice and background underbrush and oak. It is a large-scaled, rich, concentrated wine with high tannins, but fabulous purity and length. Give this wine 3-5 years of cellaring, and drink it over the next 30 years." Rating 95+ Robert Parker, Jr. The Wine Advocate, Dec 2007.
2004 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$115.00
“There are 905 cases of the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon). Full-bodied and powerful with velvety tannin, fabulous intensity, and stunning aromas of smoked herbs, charcoal embers, chocolate, creme de cassis, and minerals, it is a rich, voluptuously textured wine that admirably hides its serious tannin levels. It will unquestionably keep for two decades or more.” Rating 94 Robert Parker, Jr. The Wine Advocate, Dec 2006.
2003 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$140.00
“The brilliant 2003 Cabernet boasts a dense purple color as well as a big sweet nose of scorched earth, crème de cassis, licorice, spice, and a roasted meat-like character. Full-bodied, opulent, and rich, with tremendous intensity, huge texture, exceptional balance, and sweet tannin, this stunning Cabernet will be drinkable reasonably early in life (a rarity for a Seavey), but should easily last 15-20 years.” Robert Parker, Jr. The Wine Advocate, Dec 2005.
2002 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$125.00
"A superstar in the making. An impressively deep purple color is followed by a sweet nose of roasted meats, black currants, melted licorice, and chocolate. It coasts over the palate with a full-bodied style, an unctuous texture, admirable purity, and a wonderful singularity. Cassis, chocolate, licorice, and background oak combine in this structured, powerful, impressively endowed Cabernet. Rating 94.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Feb 2005.
2001 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$125.00
Stephen Tanzer notes, “Fascinating, super-ripe nose combines plum, iron, leather, mocha, hot rocks, underbrush, licorice and game, plus a light note of raisining fruit. Then sweet, pliant and generous with exceptional depth of texture. Very suave, seamless wine, finishing very long and sweet with huge, broad tannins that coat the cheeks and the front teeth. Seavey’s flagship wine has performed consistently well.” Intl Wine Cellar #114.
2000 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$95.00
“Complex nose melds black raspberry, dark chocolate, licorice, roasted meat, and sexy oak notes. Fat and sweet in the middle, with warm flavors of plum…a roasted ripeness. Finishes with horizontal, fine tannins and lovely persistence. A very successful 2000 from Conn Valley, in which the fruit obviously ripened well. Rated 92.” Stephen Tanzer, Intl Wine Cellar, Jun. 2003.
1999 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$125.00
"The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals an opaque purple color in addition to a sweet, highly-extracted bouquet of black fruits, coffee, chocolate, cedar, and plum aromas. Silky yet assertive tannin, full body, exceptional concentration and purity, and a dense, layered finish further characterize this wine. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 2000
1998 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$95.00
"The outstanding 1998, produced from an extremely small crop, is a rich, full-bodied, dense effort on a fast evolutionary track; the '98 is loaded with chocolatey, black cherry, and cassis fruit, an open-knit, sexy, expansive texture, outstanding concentration and purity, low acidity, and a fat, chewy finish." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 2000.
1997 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$205.00
“The opaque black/purple-colored 1997 is the finest Seavey Cabernet since the 1991. The bouquet offers aromas of licorice, jammy cassis, and toast. Sensationally concentrated and multi-layered, this full-bodied, gorgeously symmetrical classic boasts an unctuous texture & fabulous 50+ second finish. One of the majestic Cabernets of this top flight vintage. Cellaring up to 2030. Rating: 96 Points.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Jan 2000.
1996 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
Contact Winery
“The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon is superb… It is full-bodied, with exquisite density and terrific fruit purity and intensity, particularly in the mid-palate and length (always good signs for wines that are meant to improve and last). There is plenty of tannin, but this is a generous, impressively endowed wine that should stand the test of several decades of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. Rating: 92+” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, issue 126.
1995 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$165.00
“Seavey has produced some exceptional Cabernet Sauvignons, and I predict the 1995 (950 cases) will be an unexpected winner in many blind tastings. In the mouth, it is full-bodied and backward, but persuasively rich, layered and marvelously well-balanced. A sleeper pick in this outstanding vintage. It should evolve effortlessly for 20 – 30 years. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2028. Rating: 94+” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Issue 120.
1994 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$175.00
“The glories of this estate remain its Cabernet Sauvignons. After retasting the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon, I was even more impressed. The 1994 exhibits an opaque purple color and an exuberant yet still young and unformed nose of spice, black fruits and cedar. Full-bodied with layers of dense, ripe fruit, this rich, full-bodied moderately tannic wine should be at its best in 5 years. It will keep for 20+ years.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1997.
1993 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
Contact Winery
“The 1993 has developed well. wine possesses a dark saturated purple color, a sweet, truffle, cassis-scented nose, and dense, powerful, full-bodied flavors with considerable glycerin, extract and tannin. It reveals more sweetness of fruit, as well as a more expansive, chewy texture than it displayed immediately after bottling. For the 1993 vintage, this is a top-notch effort. Anticipated maturity: Up to 2020.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1996.
1992 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
Contact Winery
"Seavey estate bottles 600-1200 cases of a potentially superb, concentrated, and long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon. The 1992 is considerably lighter than the 1990 and 1991. It also exhibits a more noticeable, herbaceous aroma, combined with a less saturated color. It is spicy and medium-bodied, with moderately hard tannin in the finish." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1995.
1991 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$255.00
“The 1991 is a massive yet pure Cabernet Sauvignon that can be drunk now but promises to be even better by the turn of the century and last for 20 more years. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I did a tasting of top 1991’s and the Seavey came out first in a very competitive lineup. A small quantity of the 1991 was still exquisite, perhaps even greater than it had been 72 hours earlier. Amazing! Rating: 97.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1995.
1990 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$225.00
Contact Winery
“The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon (450 cases) is a blockbuster, opaque black/purple colored wine with great intensity, extraordinary ripeness and richness, and a huge finish with a softer style. Even so, this wine needs 4 – 5 years of cellaring. A 20-25 year candidate for cellaring. Rating: 95.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1995.
