Although born in Cincinnati, Ohio Oneta grew up in the St. Louis area of the Mid-western state of Missouri near the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. Early years were spent first in suburban areas, then on the family farm where cattle, corn and soy beans were raised. Summers were spent riding horses, catching crawdads in the creek and putting up hay.
After graduating from college she taught language arts classes of composition, mythology, and other literature, as well as, commandeering the production of the yearbook for a rapidly growing high school in St. Charles County, Missouri. Teaching and academic pursuits have been a re-occurring theme for her in the various states of Georgia, South Carolina, Washington and California where she has lived since her marriage.
More recently, the Napa Valley wines and its cultures have been the focus of her learning and occupations. She began working in the offices of large wineries in Napa Valley, but prefers her present responsibilities as the executive assistant to Mr. Seavey here at Seavey Vineyards.
