1997 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$205.00
“The opaque black/purple-colored 1997 is the finest Seavey Cabernet since the 1991. The bouquet offers aromas of licorice, jammy cassis, and toast. Sensationally concentrated and multi-layered, this full-bodied, gorgeously symmetrical classic boasts an unctuous texture & fabulous 50+ second finish. One of the majestic Cabernets of this top flight vintage. Cellaring up to 2030. Rating: 96 Points.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Jan 2000.
1996 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
Contact Winery
“The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon is superb… It is full-bodied, with exquisite density and terrific fruit purity and intensity, particularly in the mid-palate and length (always good signs for wines that are meant to improve and last). There is plenty of tannin, but this is a generous, impressively endowed wine that should stand the test of several decades of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2025. Rating: 92+” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, issue 126.
1995 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$165.00
“Seavey has produced some exceptional Cabernet Sauvignons, and I predict the 1995 (950 cases) will be an unexpected winner in many blind tastings. In the mouth, it is full-bodied and backward, but persuasively rich, layered and marvelously well-balanced. A sleeper pick in this outstanding vintage. It should evolve effortlessly for 20 – 30 years. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2028. Rating: 94+” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Issue 120.
1994 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$175.00
“The glories of this estate remain its Cabernet Sauvignons. After retasting the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon, I was even more impressed. The 1994 exhibits an opaque purple color and an exuberant yet still young and unformed nose of spice, black fruits and cedar. Full-bodied with layers of dense, ripe fruit, this rich, full-bodied moderately tannic wine should be at its best in 5 years. It will keep for 20+ years.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1997.
1997 Seavey Merlot
750ml Price:
$100.00
"There are 300 cases of the 1997 Merlot, an intense, full-bodied, gorgeously pure, 100% Merlot that saw 40% new French oak. It reveals the tell-tale espresso bean, chocolatey, sweet, jammy berry fruit, an unctuous, thick texture, full body, and excellent purity and length. It is a gorgeous Merlot to drink now and up to 2015. (release date 4/00)." - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
1996 Seavey Merlot
750ml Price:
$80.00
"I thought the 1996 Merlot was even more impressive than the 1997. The color is a saturated ruby purple, and the wine smoky, with plenty of thick, juicy black cherries, earth, and chocolate on display in abundant quantities. Full-bodied and rich, with an opulent texture, this immensely attractive Merlot can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years." - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
1993 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
Contact Winery
“The 1993 has developed well. wine possesses a dark saturated purple color, a sweet, truffle, cassis-scented nose, and dense, powerful, full-bodied flavors with considerable glycerin, extract and tannin. It reveals more sweetness of fruit, as well as a more expansive, chewy texture than it displayed immediately after bottling. For the 1993 vintage, this is a top-notch effort. Anticipated maturity: Up to 2020.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1996.
1992 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
Contact Winery
"Seavey estate bottles 600-1200 cases of a potentially superb, concentrated, and long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon. The 1992 is considerably lighter than the 1990 and 1991. It also exhibits a more noticeable, herbaceous aroma, combined with a less saturated color. It is spicy and medium-bodied, with moderately hard tannin in the finish." Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1995.
1995 Seavey Merlot
750ml Price:
Contact Winery
"Seavey's Merlots are softer and more plush than the muscular, concentrated Cabernets. The 1995 Merlot, which is more closed than the 1994, with less concentration, offers a dark ruby/purple color, a sweet nose of black cherries, earth, and a whiff of smoke and chocolate. This medium-bodied, moderately tannic wine requires 1-2 years of bottle age." - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
1994 Seavey Merlot
750ml Price:
$100.00
"The 1994 Merlot (350 cases) is aged in 35%-45% new oak casks. The opaque purple color is followed by a wine with an impressively rich nose of black currants and spice. Still young, this ripe, rich, sweet, medium to full-bodied 100% Merlot should last longer than I previously suggested. Drink now through 2011." - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
1995 Seavey Chardonnay
750ml Price:
$100.00
"An elegant and sophisticated style, smooth, ripe and creamy, that relies on subtle pear, apple, melon and oak shadings. 275 cases made. Rating: 91." - Jim Laube, Wine Spectator. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and fermented in Burgundian barrels (25% new oak), with indigenous yeasts without malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged “sur lies” in the same barrels before bottling in May of 1996.
1991 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$255.00
“The 1991 is a massive yet pure Cabernet Sauvignon that can be drunk now but promises to be even better by the turn of the century and last for 20 more years. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I did a tasting of top 1991’s and the Seavey came out first in a very competitive lineup. A small quantity of the 1991 was still exquisite, perhaps even greater than it had been 72 hours earlier. Amazing! Rating: 97.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1995.
1990 Seavey Cabernet
750ml Price:
$225.00
“The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon (450 cases) is a blockbuster, opaque black/purple colored wine with great intensity, extraordinary ripeness and richness, and a huge finish with a softer style. Even so, this wine needs 4 – 5 years of cellaring. A 20-25 year candidate for cellaring. Rating: 95.” Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate, Dec 1995.
1999 Caravina Cabernet
750ml Price:
$85.00
Seavey Vineyard’s first estate-produced Caravina, the 1999, was made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with opaque ruby/purple color, lush aromas of cherries and prunes, freshness and focus, medium body, good balance of oak and acidity and well-integrated tannins that should allow it to age well for 15 or more years.
