Dear Friends of Seavey Vineyard:

Spring has arrived suddenly in Conn Valley with warm weather and green fields. Our chardonnay vines on March 19th were the first to break bud. As our 30th season of growing grapes begins, we are pleased to announce our spring release of wines, as always, produced exclusively from grapes grown here at Seavey Vineyard.

We are excited about the first release of wines from our 2007 vintage: the Seavey Merlot and Caravina, along with the 2008 Seavey Chardonnay. The 2007 vintage has been heralded by the press as a great one amongst the many fine vintages in recent years. Who are we to disagree? While we find great enjoyment in the unfolding potential of earlier vintages (have you tasted the 2006 Seavey Cabernet lately?), our 2007’s are already showing delicious fruit, fascinating complexity, and elegant structure.

We thank our talented and dedicated staff, especially vineyard manager, Mario Gutierrez, who has been here for 25 years, as well as winemaker Jeremy Weintraub, and consulting winemaker Philippe Melka (now in his 15th year at Seavey) for their part in expressing the incredible terroir which lies at the heart of our wines.

In appreciation of your support of Seavey, we are pleased to offer you these excellent wines before they are released to the general public. Orders for 12 bottles or more, placed by May 15, will be shipped to you free of charge.

All of us at Seavey hope that you will join us for our annual Open House, which will take place on Saturday, May 15th. Along with tasting and sales of our current release wines, there will be light food and hors d’oeuvres, and an opportunity to taste Seavey Merlot and Caravina from our library and purchase them at special prices.

If you plan on attending the Open House, please RSVP by May 5th. As always, we appreciate your loyal interest and support, and look forward to your visits.

William Seavey, Proprietor
