Jeremy Weintraub joined Seavey in 2008 as Winemaker and Production Director. After graduating from Clark University, and doing a stint as a writer in New York, Jeremy decided to try his hand at wineries and vineyards on Long Island and in New Zealand and Tuscany. He then earned a master’s degree in viticulture and enology at UC Davis, where his awards included the American Society of Enology and Viticulture scholarship and the Wine Spectator scholarship.
After Davis he became assistant winemaker at Tantara Winery in Santa Maria, and then co-winemaker at Shadow Canyon Cellar in Templeton, CA. His first task at Seavey will be, in collaboration with Philippe Melka, consulting winemaker, and Bill Seavey, owner, to organize the harvest, fermentation and blending of the 2008 vineyard crop. Jeremy is married and they have a 2 year old daughter. In his spare time he loves to cook and play tennis.
