“Seavey’s 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate explodes from the glass with deep, resonant fruit. Incense, smoke, tobacco and melted road tar flow effortlessly from this big, full-bodied wine. There is no shortage of fruit or tannin in this large-scaled, firm Cabernet Sauvignon."

"One of the strongest wines of the vintage, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a worthy rival to Seavey’s gorgeous 2007. A blend of 90.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9.5% Petit Verdot, it was cropped very low and, sadly, the production is a tiny 475 cases (30-40% less than normal). The wine’s dense opaque purple color is followed by notes of volcanic ash, burning embers, camphor, blackberries, cassis and cedar. The wine reveals terrific fruit on the attack, a full-bodied mid-palate and a multilayered textural mouthfeel. Dense, rich and pure with noticeable but sweet tannins, this big, formidably endowed Cabernet Sauvignon will age gracefully for 20-25 years."

"The virtually perfect 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (85% Cabernet Sauvignon and a whopping 15% Petit Verdot) has an inky bluish/purple color, a gorgeous nose of incense, soy, truffles, scorched earth, and gobs of blackberry and cassis fruit. The tannins are gorgeously velvety and the wine very full-bodied, with terrific texture, a multi-layered mouthfeel, and a blockbuster finish with no hard edges." Rating: 96+ Points. “The 2006 Seavey has soil-inflected aromas of warm stones, underbrush and dried berries, with a very ripe, almost liqueur-like aspect…then, big, chewy and deep, with a compelling sweetness to its smoke, tobacco and espresso flavors. Just juicy enough to maintain verve…there’s something sexy and exotic about this wine.” Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar, June 2009 #144
